Congratulations Train Smart coaches. Our motto, “It’s how we coach!” proved to be true more than ever during this year’s Ironman Louisville. Train Smart athletes had a 100% finish rate. Our coaches were fanned out all over the course providing encouragement all day long. During the swim, Coach Manuel was chest deep in water pulling athletes onto the steps at the swim finish. Coach Nancy was guarding the last buoy in her kayak. On the bike course, Coaches Kris, Barry, and Nancy were cheering on athletes at multiple locations. Train Smart bike fitter Marcus Moran was chasing bikers up the 1694 hill disguised as the devil. All of us were on the run course giving encouragement. Coach Barry was handing our special needs bags and sending out an alert when a Train Smart athlete was heading to the finish. Coach Kris ran close as she could to the finish to hear the words ”You are an Ironman.”
No one will dispute that it was a tough day. We are proud of our athletes. I am proud of our coaches. |
